Labor Day Events Put the Active in Active Adults

BicycleCouple_LoungingInParkwebFor more than 120 years, the first weekend in September has recognized the contributions and achievements of American workers, with a “long weekend” to celebrate Labor Day.

Here in Georgia, we celebrate the end of the “Dog Days” of summer, with an eye toward cooler fall weather, and we’re lured out of our air conditioning to participate in the festivals, conventions, and party-like atmosphere of a number of events all over the state:

Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game

For those who have been counting down the days to SEC Football season, the wait is finally over! Make your pilgrimage to the Georgia Dome on Saturday, Sept 3, as the SEC’s Georgia Bulldogs and ACC’s North Carolina Tarheels welcome Fall, Southern style!

Dragon*Con

Now in it’s 21st year, Dragon*Con is one of the largest multi-genre conventions in North America, drawing more than 63,000 guests to celebrate science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comic books, costumes, etc. Workshops include acting, writing, Tai Chi, belly dancing. The event also includes a parade, art show, and seminars and panels featuring actors and writers from popular movies, television series, comic books, and more. Visit dragoncon.org for information.
