In Spring Come Forth Active Adults

(inspired by Emily Dickinson’s “From Cocoon Forth a Butterfly”)

As winter loosens its chilly grip

and redbud and jonquil blossoms appear

Days grow longer, rainy but warm

and bird songs echo for all to hear.

From beneath their layers of jackets come

homeowners breathing deep the spring

Teasing for weeks till it finally arrives –

a fickle but oh-so-welcome thing!

Bulbs we planted months ago

press up through sleeping garden beds

Promising joy for the eyes to behold

tulips in yellows and pinks and reds.

Clouds may linger and block the sun

but a light spring jacket is all we need

To watch the robins hop to and fro

On fat spring worms they feast and feed.

Like the flowers that herald spring

houses rise up from the thick red clay

Frames and walls, windows and roof

Will be a home one coming day.

Like all those that have come before

each home built by the Windsong team

Is more than just a place to live,

It’s the manifestation of a dream.

Luxurious rooms filled with natural light

bring smiles to their owners’ faces

But the weather beckons them outside

to wide front porches and courtyard spaces.

Active adults share a special secret

realized when they buy a Windsong home:

A life that’s enjoyed, rich and full

includes ample outdoor space to roam.

Neighbors who become good friends,

in each one of our communities;

Spring enjoyed both inside and out…

Welcome to Windsong, Where Life’s A Breeze!
