A-MAIZE-ing Fun for Boomers & Grandkids

CornMaze_300wFor nearly two decades, several local farms have designated areas of their farms to living works of art that serve as family entertainment for a few short weeks each fall: Corn Mazes.

Now celebrating its 100th anniversary, Cagle Family Farm in Canton was the first to incorporate a Corn Maze as a way to both increase revenue and provide a fun atmosphere to introduce families to farm life – and they make a great outing for grandparents and grandchildren of all ages!

Now in its 15th year, the Cagle Dairy Corn Maize is a series of paths cut into an 8-acre corn field, with several dead-ends and wrong turns thrown in to keep things interesting. Visitors can read clues along the way to help them navigate the maze, which takes about 45 minutes to complete.

This year’s Cagle’s Dairy Corn Maize benefits the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) Foundation, with a portion of each ticket sold donated to benefit sick and injured children and their families.

The Corn Maize is open Fridays (5 – 11 pm), Saturdays (10 am – 11 pm) and Sundays (10 am – 6 pm), through October, and families can also choose to visit the Haunted Barn (open Fridays & Saturdays from dark till11 pm), Bonfire Hayride (Fridays & Saturdays 6 pm – 10 pm), and Farm Tours (Saturdays & Sundays 10 am – 4 pm).

Call 770-345-5591 or visit caglesfamilyfarm.com for information and directions. Located on Stringer Road in Canton, the Corn Maize is an easy drive from all Windsong communities.
